Best way to bond concrete to stone?
The concrete grout between the stone stairs at the front of my house has cracked allowing water to seep through to the cellar! I would like to know the best way and materials to use to ensure a good seal when replacing the concrete?
The best way to seal a crack between concrete & stone would be to remove any loose debris concrete or stone. Clean area free of any dust lightly sprinkle water on crack and apply a jenerious cout of Weld-o-Bond to area. Allow weld-o-dond to setup aprox. 5-15 min depending on tempature (not to hot or to cold).allow to set till weld-o-bond is tacky to touch. In the mean time make a mix of 3-1 ratio of cement to sand to be consistant with exist cement/concrete also use an additive of c-21 in cement mix follow manufacturers recomendaits more is always better than not enough.(Sand should be same git or finer to ensure properbond.) once weld-o-bond is tacky and cement mix is at a proper consistancey not to stiff or to loose (should just stick to trowel with out falling off) Your' ready to go. Good luck! these things usually take some experiance.
