The Duplo DB-280 Binding Machine is a user friendly perfect binder, padder, tape binder and hard-cover binder that offer professional results, no matter the bind you choose. With a production speed of as many as 200 books per hour, the automated DB-280 is ideal for short-run and on-demand printing applications.
To use the DB-280, simply jog your sheets and place them into the automatic gripping clamp. Your book is gets a double pass over the roughening cutter, which provides superior notching to ensure superb glue penetration for a strong finished bind. It features a patented clamping and nipping system that ensures precise, consistent, and square binds.
Innovative features of the DB-280 Perfect Binder & Padder include a dust extractor as well as two glue drums that provide a more durable bind and additional glue capacity. With a quick push of a button, the DB-280's perfect binding capabilities can convert to a padding function where only the precise amount of glue is added to complete perfectly bound note pads.
For added convenience and efficiency, the DB-280 features a cover detection mechanism by the nipping station that ensures the clamp will not travel back to the nipping position until the cover is in place. Convenience is further ensured with the ability to set the nipping and clamping time to your pace, as well as a standby mode that allows periodic interruptions in production while maintaining the heated glue temperature. This binding machine features a safety cover on the notching blade to ensure operator safety, as well as a finished book counter round out to help you keep track of your production.
A simple control panel and LED display make it easy to understand and operate the DB-280. The menu guides the operator through the entire binding process step-by-step. Using specifically formulated EVA glue creates a strong bind and allows the binding of a wider range of paper types and weights. Binding with this new glue and with the addition of a second glue applicator drum, the DB-280 ensures a stronger bind and a quality finish. A uniquely designed nipping mechanism applies a powerful nipping pressure and produces and square and precise book spine of professional quality. The nipping table presses the wrap-around cover or tape on all three sides of the spine to ensure perfectly square spines, every time.
With automated performance and other outstanding features that are typically only available with more expensive machines, the DB-280 provides centrally located controls for single-operator efficiency. Electronic operation and clearly marked LED display screen ensure precise settings.

The DB-280 is manufactured by Duplo U.S.A. It can bind in four different styles or methods, including perfect binding, case binding, tape binding and padding. It can bind a book as thick as 1.6". The minimum book side is 3.15" x 1.97", and the maximum is 12.6" x 15.75". The maximum cover that the DB-280 can accept is 12.6" x 33". The maximum cover thickness is an 8pt cover stock. Bind up to 360 cycles per hour, or as many as 200 books per hour. Standard 110V, 60 Hz, 15 Amps. Adhesive takes an average of 25 minutes to warm up, or five minutes from standby mode. Additional features include" dust extraction, standby mode, LED display and error detection display. The DB-280 is only compatible with Duplo Glue specifically made for this machine. It measures 19" W x 50" D x 19" H. It weighs 263 pounds, or 305 pounds shipping weight. Comes standard with a one year manufacturer's limited warranty, and 90 day electrical warranty.

if i buy a multi-day pass at Universal Studios themepark in Orlando, can i let my friend use it?
I want to know if i can let someone else in my party use my multi-day pass on a day that i am not attending? Does Univ. Stud. ID you when you enter the gate?
I'm currently in Orlando for a 2-week holiday down from Toronto. I was at Universal Studios yesterday (July 9, 2010) with my family. We have 2 day passes. They operate those passes in the same way as Disney does...with fingerprint scan technology. At Disney, you choose whichever finger you like, and with Universal, when you put your ticket through the turnstile at the entrance gate, you also scan your right index finger until the light on the turnstile turns green. That way, the next time you visit, that ticket has to match up with the same fingerprint as they re-scan your finger. This prevents people from selling or sharing their partially-used tickets. Fully-used tickets, however, can be reloaded and sold, or sold and reloaded, since they will issue a brand-new ticket ready for a new fingerprint....officially, only supposed to be used by the same person.
